Semi-Closed Forest Terrarium – Fern & Moss
These large recycled-glass terrariums (approx. 37 × 19 cm) feature a small top opening and lightly tinted glass, creating a calm, forest-like environment with minimal maintenance. Planted with moisture-loving ferns and moss, they naturally regulate humidity while allowing gentle air exchange through the opening.
They perform beautifully as low-care semi-closed terrariums, and for customers who prefer a fully sealed ecosystem, a cork or glass stopper can be added at any time to convert the terrarium into a closed system.
Why this format works so well
Large volume = very stable moisture balance
Small opening prevents rapid drying
Ferns and moss self-regulate growth
Excellent forgiveness for beginners
This is one of the easiest long-term terrarium styles to live with.
Why I love this one This format offers the calm, self-sustaining feel of a closed terrarium — with just enough openness to keep everything forgiving, stable, and beautifully easy to live with
