Open Tulip Glass Terrarium – Restrepia brachypus, Bromeliad & Pilea glauca

Open Tulip Glass Terrarium – Restrepia brachypus, Bromeliad & Pilea glauca

This open tulip glass terrarium brings together the refined presence of Restrepia brachypus with the bold structure of a small bromeliad and the soft, cascading texture of Pilea glauca. The composition feels layered and alive, an orchid rising through a living groundcover, anchored by sculptural foliage.

Designed as an open terrarium, this setup allows for natural airflow while still maintaining a lightly humid microclimate around the plants. This balance is particularly important for Restrepia brachypus, which thrives with humidity but benefits from air movement, making the open tulip glass an excellent long-term environment when placed correctly.

Each Living Art terrarium is created as a once-off piece, carefully composed to suit the container and evolve naturally over time.

Why I love this one: This terrarium captures contrast beautifully, fine textures against bold forms, softness balanced by structure. It feels calm, layered, and quietly dynamic, changing just enough to keep drawing you back in.
